Included are situation reports, field agent reports, and press releases which describe damage to property and the progress of relief operations in the aftermath of drought, floods, tornadoes, and heavy storms. Chapter 628, Laws of 1959, placed the former Office of Civil Defense (WIHV86-A1719) within the Executive Office as the Bureau of Civil Defense. In 1967, the Bureau was incorporated into the Department of Local Affairs and Development (WIHV86-A1748) as the Division of Emergency Government (WIHV86-A1722).
